The Importance of Your Memories

Follow Good morning, people!

When I was a kid, one of my favorite people growing up was my great-uncle Steve. He was my first real exposure to the world. Whenever he walked through the door of my Granny’s house, it usually meant I’d be going on a tour of Chicago’s finest coffee houses and diners. Everywhere we went, Uncle Steve would stop and talk. He talked to everyone and anyone, and because of this, everyone knew who he was.

I remember sitting at the bar with him, drinking Shirley Temples while he enjoyed his mixed coffee/alcoholic beverages. He would flirt with the waitresses as they doted on me. Even though I was under five years old, I felt much older when I was with him. He has since passed on, but I will never, ever forget the man who taught me the importance of connecting with others.

Because of those moments, I am the person I am today. Thank you, Great-Uncle Steve.

Happy Throwback Thursday, my Weekday Warriors! It’s that day again, and those of you who know me know what that means—it’s time for a blast from the past.

Expect your KC Metro area weather today to start out in the upper 30s, with a high of only 59°.

Today’s throwback topic is The Importance of Your Memories.

As Bob Dylan said, “Take care of all your memories, for you cannot relive them.”

“Nothing stays the same.” Because of this, we’re always experiencing moments that come and go. The people we meet, the places we go, and the things we do eventually pass us by. What helps us retain each moment are the memories attached to each experience. And since these moments don’t last, the memories they leave are important to cherish—even if they’re not always the best.

So listen up, people: your memories are evidence that your life’s journey exists. They remind you of who you are, where you came from, and the people who traveled with you. Create, enjoy, and cherish them, because when those people and moments are gone, your memories will help you remember it all.

It’s Ya Boy Coffee Cup Chuck Thank you for joining me for another powerful message. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day and as always, Stay Positive People☕️😎👍🏾!
