The Importance of Walking Away

Good Morning People!!!

It took everything in Muhammad’s soul not to completely pummel the face just inches from his own. His neighbor had been a nightmare since moving in next door, and at this particular moment, he was spewing foul language and spit as he screamed. This was all over dog poop—not Muhammad’s dog’s poop, but someone else’s. This didn’t matter to the angry neighbor. All that mattered was that there was dog poop in his yard again, and Muhammad just so happened to have a dog. Instead of reacting violently like the distraught neighbor, Muhammad simply waited until the man was completely out of words, apologized for the dog poop, then turned back toward his house and walked to the front door.

Happy Throwback Thursday, my Weekday Warriors! Time to get out there and spend the last few paychecks of the year on those Christmas gifts! Today brings more sunshine, so expect a beautiful sky. Temperatures start out in the mid-20s and climb to 53 degrees. This Thursdays topic is The Importance of Walking Away.

Some of us have the willpower to withstand anything, while others have a tendency to get themselves into trouble by doing the opposite. If we aren’t giving others permission to get under our skin, we’re letting them bring out the loose cannon in us. When this happens, we’re essentially handing over our self-control. So listen up, people! Before you allow someone the privilege of getting you worked up and bent out of shape, learn to walk away. It’s easier to argue with the ignorant, but it’s better to argue with no one. So the next time you’re confronted with the opportunity to square up, turn around, and walk away. You’ve got better things to do with your energy.
