Charles Lee loved his dog, but due to old age, he knew that the days of his four-legged partner were short. This depressed him. Not only was he dealing with the deterioration of his buddy, he was also dealing with watching his mother fight to breathe. Instead of giving in to the fact that her lungs were failing her, she chose to suffer for the opportunity of seeing her son another day. The night before she past, just before he left her bedside, she asked him to adjust her body in the bed for her. This required him grabbing her under both arms, embracing her, while taking in her recently cleaned body scent. He was happy he got to do this, because it would be the last hug he ever gave her. As he left her room that night, she smiled at him. The last words he ever heard her speak alive, was her telling him she loved him more. As he walked down the hallway of the rehab center, he felt confident that he would see her again soon. She gained her angel wings not long after.
Happy Hump Day my Weekday Warriors!! Today may be the hump that gets me over the slump. Your KC weather starts off in the mid 60’s and hits the low 80’s by midday. Today’s topic is on ‘The Importance Of A Hug’.
It’s nothing in the world like losing your mom. I just lost mines and let me just say this, my body hurts all over. There’s no preparation in the world that prepare’s you for it. What I have noticed these past few days is how some of the pain just seems to drain right out of me when I’m hugged. The feeling is so overwhelming, but so soothing and relieving. Just the pressure up against my body seems to settle the hurt. So listen up people. never underestimate the strength you pass on to someone else when you hug them. Hugs are our way of giving and receiving positive energy from one another and that energy may very well be needed to get someone else back going again. So the next time you see me out and about please feel free to pass me a hug, because God knows I need one much so.
